Academia Timoteo is committed to providing high quality education for its pre-K-8th grade students, including a rigorous core academic program of study in math, reading, grammar, science and social studies, as well as a variety of extracurricular activities. At Academia Timoteo, a well-rounded education includes challenging academics supplemented with extracurricular activities that together encourage students’ spiritual, intellectual, personal, social, and physical growth. Enrollment is open to all families, regardless of faith or religious involvement, who have a shared commitment to Timothy's values and school policies.
In keeping with its mission, Academia Timoteo’s curriculum also includes a spiritual component, with a strong emphasis on moral and character development. With a 98% eighth grade graduation rate, Academia Timoteo’s students are regularly recruited by and attend some of the best private and magnet high schools in Greater Philadelphia. Many go on to four-year degree programs, and a majority have remained in the Philadelphia area as successful professionals and community leaders, a testament to the educational and personal development skills they learned while at Academia Timoteo.
Academia Timoteo provides child care, physical education, music services at our Lehigh Avenue facility, which was built in 1945 and also houses Grades K-8 classrooms, administrative offices as well as Academia Timoteo’s science, computer learning laboratories, after-school and summer educational enrichment program.
Academia Timoteo is recognized by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a private elementary school and initially gained its accreditation by the Middle States Association in 1994. In 2004, the school received its re-accreditation from Middle States, as well as dual accreditation by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Academia Timoteo was unanimously endorsed for accreditation by both entities. Additionally, Academia Timoteo is a member of the Mid-Atlantic Christian Schools Association (MACSA) and the Philadelphia Association of Christian Schools (PACS), with whom it regularly collaborates for both educational and extra-curricular (sports) activities. In 2009, Academia Timoteo became one of only five approved Youth Education for Tomorrow (YET) signature sites providing balanced literacy support to students.
